H10 Casa Mimosa is a particularly clever Barcelona hotel: central enough for Passeig de Gràcia, yet calm enough to feel removed from its traffic and crowds. The listed 19th-century building retains Modernist details, while the rooms use pale materials and restrained contemporary furniture rather than competing with the architecture. Its greatest asset is the sequence of outdoor spaces. The rear garden is shaded, quiet and unexpectedly generous for the Eixample; above, El Cel de Gaudí terrace frames the chimneys and stone curves of neighbouring La Pedrera. Come back in the late afternoon, order a cocktail and watch the light soften over the rooftops. Breakfast and lunch at El Til·ler are useful, but the hotel works best as an elegant base rather than a self-contained resort. Garden-facing rooms offer the most peaceful experience, so request one when booking and clarify the terrace type if outdoor space matters.
