Brasserie Mollard

A listed Art Deco setting with a stunning central glass canopy. Brasserie Mollard is one of the last remaining witnesses to the rise of the railway and the birth of the Gare Saint-Lazare. Originally, it all began as a simple bougnat (a small bar run by a coal merchant), and over the years, while the menu evolved, the magnificent Modern Style frescoes and grand mirrors signed by Édouard Niermans—the same architect behind the Negresco Hotel in Nice—have been carefully preserved. People come here for the finest oysters, platters of pink shrimp, the classic fish soup, the sea bream in bisque sauce, the pork shank with sauerkraut, and the ever-impressive Norwegian omelet flambéed with Grand Marnier. They come for the waiters in traditional white aprons and for their impeccable service. They come because time simply stands still at Mollard.
