Right in Montorgueil, Casa Pregonda may come off a bit pretentious at first glance. A tiled bar, candles everywhere, exposed beams all around… the din of the well-heeled crowd is barely softened by the playlist, yet the place remains seductive. It feels like a Minorcan enclave dreamed up by architect Johanna Amatoury. On the plates: tortilla takes center stage, croquetas are crispy and tasty, and the pan con tomate with Cantabrian anchovies takes you straight to Spain. But the real joy is in the wines and cocktails. A glass of Sauvignon with a jalapeño pepper is as simple as it is addictive.
