Le Grand Comptoir d'Anvers is most useful as a flexible meeting point at the foot of Montmartre. It opens early, closes late and covers the full Parisian brasserie spectrum: breakfast, counter lunch, traditional French plates, cocktails and a terrace facing the square. The south-facing outdoor tables are the clearest reason to choose it in good weather, especially for coffee in the morning or an apéritif before climbing towards Sacré-Cœur. Inside, a spacious room and live-jazz programme can give the evening more momentum than the ordinary-looking frontage suggests. Choose familiar dishes, ask about the plat du jour and let convenience and atmosphere do the work; this is not a place that requires elaborate ordering. For groups, families or friends arriving from different parts of the city, the combination of easy transport, long service and generous space is genuinely valuable.
