Between Place Vendôme and the Opéra Garnier, nestled between the Ritz and the InterContinental, this simple, unpretentious spot might seem out of place—until you learn that Mark Zuckerberg, Kate Moss, and Timothée Chalamet have all dined here. Its founder, a producer of Amélie, may have something to do with that. Open daily from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m., this enduring temple of terroir—complete with neon lights and Formica counters—is always bustling. The jambon-beurre is made in a traditional baguette with bone-in Breton ham and PDO salted butter, best enjoyed with a glass of Saint-Pourçain. Fourme d’Ambert and Auvergne-style fritons are also on the menu. And in the starring roles: gratinated onion soup, grilled pig’s trotter with vinegar, andouillette on a string… each deserving an Oscar, while the millefeuille should never be cut in the editing room.
