Sacré Frenchy falls into the category of trompe-l’œil restaurants.
Sacré Frenchy falls into the category of trompe-l’œil restaurants. At first glance, you might think it’s one of those obvious tourist traps. But behind a slightly flashy, almost cliché “Frenchy” façade lies a genuine surprise, offering 100% homemade cuisine with all the classic brasserie staples. There’s onion soup, of course, bone marrow, œufs mayo served with crunchy baby turnips, and white asparagus with champagne sauce. The chef works exclusively with seasonal ingredients. The seven-hour lamb is as springlike as it gets, served with Ratte du Touquet potatoes and steamed peas. The same goes for the poultry “montgolfière,” coated in a fresh morel sauce and served with melting pumpkin. Dessert is a must: the 70% chocolate soufflé. Pure comfort. Comfort food at its best, generous portions, and a warm, convivial atmosphere—what more could you ask for?
